Nidus
The digital nervous system of my daily life
Explore NidusFunctional Analyst AI Transformation Expert at In The Pocket
I translate complex business and systems context into working AI systems — from analysis to prototype, product architecture and rollout.
My strength sits at the intersection of business, technology and AI. Nidus is the proof: a real, self-built platform that brings together data, automation and intelligence — not a demo, but a working system.

I'm Klaas, AI Transformation Expert at In The Pocket. My strength sits at the intersection of business, technology and AI: I quickly see how processes work, where the friction lies, and how to translate that into practical, working solutions. My foundation is functional analysis. Nidus is the proof: a self-built platform that brings together data, automation and intelligence. LOWI is the lab where that happens.

LOWI — Lab of Wonder and Imagination — is my personal learning, research and building environment at the intersection of AI, biology, automation and creative technology. What started from curiosity is growing into a place where I research ideas, build prototypes and connect different disciplines. LOWI shows not just what I come up with, but above all how I think: inquisitive, systemic, and always aimed at something usable, understandable and technically sound.
The digital nervous system of my daily life
Nidus is the first fully-fledged system within LOWI: a personal operating system that brings together data from my family, home and daily routines. I'm building in connections to energy usage, location data, automations, dashboards, Raspberry Pi workers, Supabase and mobile interfaces. On top of that, Jarvis is growing as an intelligent layer that understands context, spots connections, supports decisions and gradually becomes more proactive. Nidus isn't a standalone demo, but a living system that is continuously expanded and refined.
Theatre at the intersection of science, technology and imagination
CRISPR & CHICKN is an artistic-scientific theatre project about genetic technology, the malleability of life, and the question of how far humanity may go in rewriting it. Through performance, experimentation and imagination, the project makes complex topics such as CRISPR, genetic modification and synthetic biology tangible for a broad audience. The goal isn't to offer easy answers, but to create wonder, unease and conversation around the technologies shaping our future. Within LOWI, CRISPR & CHICKN forms the bridge between my interest in biology, technology, education and performing arts.

My foundation as a functional analyst, incl. at De Watergroep (Billing/SDL); Nidus is my own proof of it.
Running in Nidus: an LLM assistant, receipt OCR and budget classification — plus a validated metabolic model.
The production backend of Nidus: TypeScript/Node and Python, PostgreSQL with RLS, nightly data pipelines.
The screens people actually use: the Nidus web app, the mobile app and this portfolio itself.
The full Nidus topology runs in production: hosting, CI discipline and a Raspberry Pi at home.
